Description
:
A bearded young man puts a Euro into a Coca-Cola vending machine and we’re transported behind the plastic face of the machine into a fantasy world where the coin rolls down a mountainside and splashes into a waterfall. An empty Coca-Cola bottle flys past, borne by three plump flying bugs. They drop the bottle into a tower where it is filled with Coke. Furry creatures kiss the outside of the bottle as the bottle cap is catapulted into place. Then a giant hand sends the bottle screaming along a track through a tunnel. When it reemerges it is in an artic landscape, where snowmen are put through a snowblower that chills the Coke bottle. The bottle drops through a hole and appears in a skyscape, plopping into a moving walkway where it is feted and cheered by cannons shooting confetti. At the end of this walkway, the bottle rolls down a chute and ends up in the bin of the vending machine, where the young man picks it up. As he drinks it, we see him pause to look down at the bottle and then the machine and smile as he walks on.

"Coca Cola happiness family "

---------------------------------------

I think is quite attracting commercial video advertisement for me, think off each time when we grab the coca-cola from the vending machine, it have it own process to make the coca cola by the snowman. But how sad is that, we couldn't find such vending machine at Malaysia.

Coffee bean

Coffee normally is a must for everyone. A person may take coffee once per day. Normally people describe coffee is type of "drug", once you take it, you will like it and have one cup of coffee in a day. Coffee made off from coffee bean. According to Wikipedia, a coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant. In a crop of coffee, a small percentage of cherries contain a single bean, instead of the usual two. This is called a peaberry. Coffee beans consist mostly of endosperm that contains 0.80-2.5% caffeine.

Coffee beans distributed into low quality beans, flat beans and peaberry.
Structure of coffee berry and beans:
1: center cut
2:bean (endosperm)
3: silver skin (testa, epidermis)
4: parchment (hull, endocarp)
5: pectin layer
6: pulp (mesocarp)
7: outer skin (pericarp, exocarp)

Few steps for coffee processing:
- Picking: A coffee plant usually starts to produce flowers 3–4 years after it is planted and it is from these flowers that the fruits of the plant (commonly known as coffee cherries) appear, with the first useful harvest possible around 5 years after planting.

- Wet process: In the this, the fruit covering the seeds/beans is removed before they are dried. Coffee processed by the wet method is called wet processed or washed coffee. The wet method requires the use of specific equipment and substantial quantities of water. There are Ferment-Wash Meth and Machine-assisted wet processing.

- Dry process: Dry process, also known as unwashed or natural coffee, is the oldest method of processing coffee. The entire cherry after harvest is first cleaned and then placed in the sun to dry on tables or in thin layers on patios.

(took it when I visited to the factory)

- Milling:
The final steps in coffee processing involve removing the last layers of dry skin and remaining fruit residue from the now dry coffee, and cleaning and sorting it. These steps are often called dry milling to distinguish them from the steps that take place before drying, which collectively are called wet milling.

- Grading:
Grading is the process of categorizing coffee beans on the basis of various criteria such as size of the bean, where and at what altitude it was grown, how it was prepared and picked, and how good it tastes, or its cup quality. Coffees also may be graded by the number of imperfections.

Other than coffee, what can we do with coffee bean? Actually in this post, after been introduced about coffee bean. I think want to show some drawings painted by coffee bean, I found it when I visited to a coffee factory at Bali, Indonesia. Is some surprised when I know that those drawings were painted by coffee bean powder. I don't know who is the artist, but at least I found that coffee beans can used to be as "color".

-----------------------------------------------
Actually I'm not the person who like coffee much, because for me, I think that coffee purposely is for older person who will only take coffee very often. Perhaps, I might change my mind in the coming day.

Kind of small exhibiton at Singapore

In this post, I'm going to share what I captured in a shopping mall at Singapore. I forget what the name of that shopping mall called, but I remembered that in every floor of that shopping mall, it have a space to allow people to display their artworks. Is quite fun to have such small kind of exhibition having in shopping mall. First of all, it may be comparison in between those designers, they might may ideas discussion or critic for the artworks, it made differentiation for the personal's identity from the designers. Secondly, I guess they may have those feedback from the viewer, they can improve from time to time when they start to listen to others perception.

Below are the photo that I took from one part of the small exhibition, I guess this theme is about Creativeness because it basically made from things like plastic begs, brushes, carpets and some things that we often used it in our daily life.

This is a chair made by plastic begs tie around.

Brushes normally we used to wash the plates and added in with carpets.

Is something like tin to form a chair?!

Some others tin brushes to form the sitting's part?
curious people will get this at their home or not?

It's t something like cotton?

tea table?

beach chair? possible to sit and relax up there?

Impress with their artworks. Hope that Malaysia some shopping mall can allows the designer to display their artwork at side corner. So people not purpose to shop.

Form follows function

First comes to my mind, form is the shape, visual appearance, or configuration of an object. While function is the way by how it can be use or else the presentational of a thing. Follows function are things that purposely made out according to the originality personal from the function of itself. Example like I made pencil box in a box shape, it function to keep my pencil and portable for me to bring along and put into my beg. So the form is box shape, function is portable for me to keep my pencil. This is own opinion when I haven't do any research about form follows function.

According to Wikipedia, Form follows function is a principle associated with modern architecture and industrial design in the 20th century. The principle is that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose. In the context of design professions form follows function intuitively seems like good sense, but on closer examination it becomes problematic and open to interpretation. Linking the relationship between the form of an object and its intended purpose is not always by itself a complete design solution. Defining the precise meaning(s) of the phrase 'form follows function' opens a discussion of design integrity that remains an important, lively debate.

I will be focusing in product design. Automobile designing. If the design of an automobile conforms to its function, as in its shape or wide stance for better vehicle dynamics, den it called form follows it function.

form: Hyundai NEOS, top grade concept car
function: backed up by a mid-mounted 2 litre 250 bhp engine concealed by the aluminum and composite bodywork.

form: Volkswagen New Beetle
(separate wings, vestigial running boards, sloping headlamps and large round tail lights)
function: Max speed: 177 km/h (110 mph), Acceleration (0–96 km/h | 0-60 mph): 13.2 s

form: BMW 5 Series, top grade concept car.
function: The eight gear reduces the number of revolution at high speeds, tangibly increasing comfort while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Japanese / Korean Creative Advertisement

I want to show a Korean/Japanese commercial advertisement. Because I think that commercial advertisement takes important role in our daily life.

In this video, the director used a child's as the main character. The messages brought out from the child's creativeness, he showed his little power to influence others to save the whale. Is touch while watching it.

As the message from this video, we really need to do something to save our earth.

Project 1_done

Finally i done with my project one. Monument. This project is going to pass up soon in this Thursday.

This is the UNALTERED photo. Place marker of Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside.

I came out with 3 designs. This is the first design: with the ideas of horizontal, used blue color as the main color. With the pop up name, to show more 3D's feeling.

Second design: with the ideas of vertical monument, tried to show out the monument with red colors, eyes catching.

Third design: Designed with green color, showed environment friendly.

But finally i choose first design and applied into my photo. Because I think that first design is more nicely compared to another two design. With the blue color, mix up red colors, it can attract people to look at it.

With the ALTERED photo:

What u think about it?

Kaka Art Market

Randomly i had attended one Art Market that purposely to display handmade items. It named as "Kaka Art Market". It happen at every month first Sunday. Every months has their own theme, designers have to display the items according to the theme.

For this month, the theme is "thanksgiving". Actually i think is quite good for us to visit such kind of event. I had took some photos about the items that displayed at each booth. All items are made by handmade.

Homemade cookies

A drawing performed by only using shirt buttons.

-----------------------------------

It opened for everyone to display their items. A place to share for designers.
I guess I will attend this event for the coming month too.
Below is the Kaka Art Market's Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/kakaartmarket *chinese version*

Feel free to drop by and view for their event's photos.

-----------------------------------

Lastly, I think our major/ course should try to make some event such like this.
Creativity can be explore by students.

Project 1

Project 1: Information and Directional Signage.

In this project, we are required to identify one buildings in Cyberjaya/ Putrajaya. We need to capture these buildings have/ have not signage and graphic. We need to draw monument for that building that we choose, convey the concept and purposes mean for that.

For my information, I found that Information and Directional signage is something like place marker. When people looks at the signage, they will know where they are. So to be show out, the signage should be place at somewhere that easy for people to recognize.

I had decided to choose Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside. It is Resorts and Hotels. Because I had been to overnight at there before, so I loved with the environment around at there. I did some researches about Pullman.

------------------------------------

Venue: Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside, Hotel & Resorts.

It is located in front of the Putrajaya Lake, Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside offers a premier hotel experience for discerning business travellers. Split into four wings each with a unique ethnic theme, the hotel features 283 rooms. 25 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur city centre, Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside offers the best in technology and conferencing services and boasts 22 meeting rooms, a large ballroom and open air amphitheatre, plus a day spa, water sports and five delicious eateries.

Concept store

I would like to share this concept store.

Cotton On.

First for me to know this store is from Singapore. After that, I found that is available at Malaysia too. With the outlets around at Sunway Piramid, Mid Valley, One Utama and Pavillion. I think it is a bit similiar to F.O.S. For this, I would like to introduce Cotton On that available at Sunway Piramid. When I first entered this store, it clearly gives me the feeling to grab some Tee from there. It sells Tee for woman and man, singlet, short pants, glasses, shoe and sandals. The price is just around Rm25-Rm49.9. It is affordable for everyone. Because the quality of the Tee can be compare to some others branded Tee. I guess now they are start to focus on Child's production too. Just few photos to share, because it is not allow to take photos inside.

Been trying for their glasses. Fooling with that.

singlets around.

I prefer to shop in Cotton On compare to others. So how about you? After been looking for my introduction of it. Have a nice shopping day at Cotton On.
